We started this new mission with three days of training at the Salt Lake City Temple. This was a wonderful experience. We met with twenty-seven other missionary couples that were headed to various LDS temples all over the world. The first thing that we learned was that almost every single other couple had already served a temple mission or served in a temple previously. This left us a bit behind in the training area. Some of these couples had also served Family History Missions.
However, very few had served in a member leader support mission or a service mission. We are very, very grateful for our experiences in the inner-city mission and our challenges in Vanuatu. It is the very best possible blessing to work directly with the incredible saints from around the world!
