Our travel back to Washington, DC

Clyde served in the Northern States Mission from 1967-1969.  He served in only three cities - Rockford, Sterling, and Peoria, Illinois.  We had the wonderful opportunity to visit with some of the people that he knew way back then.  We stayed with the Sharpe's - Jim and Kathy.  Clyde had taught them the gospel. They are very active members in the Rockford Ward.  It was a blessing to be able to attend church with them.  The Sharpe's have been good friends for all of the many years.

One church history site that we had never visited was Kirtland, Ohio.  The Kirtland Temple was our next stop.  A very informative gentleman was our tour guide.  The temple is truly historic. However, when we got to the LDS sites in town, we had testimony building experience.  A young sister missionary took us around and included so many faith promoting stories.  We are definitely glad that we took time for this stop.

Finally, we arrived at Michael and Lisa's home.  We were greeted by an exhuberant little Maddie.  It was great being with this family.  Michael took some time off work and was a great cook for our stay.  We went to a farm and picked apples and pumpkins and visited the farm animals.  We are so glad to be closer to New Jersey and Michael, Lisa, and Maddie!  We will see them again for Thanksgiving.
